La Quinta STVR Permit History

La Quinta reports / Historical coverage

Two kinds of evidence

The complete weekly registers below support monthly reports with active and suspended permit counts. The City’s quarterly summaries provide additional active-permit figures, including retrospective tables reaching back to January 2021. These are separate series. A quarterly total cannot fill a missing register, and a month-only label does not establish a specific day.

All historical files were recovered in October 2026. Original source dates determine the observations; archive capture dates and retrieval dates do not. Where multiple complete workbooks exist in one month, the report uses the latest verified source date.

Complete registers and monthly reports

Each total includes active and currently suspended STVR permits, counted once per permit number. Pending applications and Bed & Breakfast records are excluded. Missing months remain unavailable.

Quarterly active-permit summaries

The following figures come from the City’s quarterly reports and their development attachments. Each attachment explicitly states its as-of date. The documents do not state their publication dates; meeting dates, archived captures and timestamps embedded in download links are not substitutes.

The area groups include Exempt alongside four geographic labels. They are the publisher’s classifications, not neighborhood boundaries. Some geographic totals include “Large Lot Qualified & Certified” permits. These groups have not been reconciled record by record to the weekly register’s Business Area field across all periods.

General, Primary Residence and Homeshare counts sum to each quarterly total. Estate permits are a subset, so they must not be added again. These active-permit summaries do not establish suspended inventory, current capacity, available permits or property eligibility. Quarters without a verified document are omitted.

Earlier figures preserved in later reports

The first-quarter 2026 report’s Table 2 preserves the observations below. Its labels specify only a month and year. January figures are not assigned to January 1 or January 31, and none becomes a complete monthly-register report.

Limits on comparisons

Quarterly and weekly counts can differ even near the same date. For example, the City’s quarterly report states 1,215 active permits on June 30, 2026, while the July 1 register reconciles to 1,196 active and one suspended permit. The sources do not establish the cause of that difference. We do not present it as a verified one-day loss of permits.

The City’s older labels and permit rules also changed over time. This overview preserves the reported classifications without applying today’s rules or parcel denominators retrospectively. It does not estimate missing months, measure rental demand, or infer occupancy and revenue.
