La Quinta STVR Permit Inventory — November 2025
La Quinta’s November 5, 2025 register contains 1,211 active STVR permits and no suspended permits, with reporting-area detail.
An early-November observation
The November 5 register contains 1,211 included permits, all marked active. That is seven fewer than the October 29 observation. The two releases are only a week apart; this is not a comparison of complete calendar months or month-end inventories.
Five pending applications and three Bed & Breakfast records are excluded. General, Primary Residence and Homeshare STVR permits remain included across bedroom-count, mitigated and multi-unit lock-off variants, with one count per unique permit number. The included counts reconcile to the City’s dated headline.
Coverage and classifications
This is the latest complete workbook recovered for 2025. No December register was recovered, so November cannot stand in for the year-end inventory. The comparison period for the available 2025 observations begins on March 26.
The City’s Exempt bucket is an exemption-related reporting classification alongside four geographic labels. These categories are not neighborhood boundaries or a measure of available permits. Development totals are a separate dimension.
This historical source was recovered in October 2026. View historical coverage and the separately dated quarterly figures.
The inventory is dated November 5, 2025 and was retrieved on October 26, 2026. This is a point-in-time observation, not a month-end total.
Change from the previous monthly snapshot: -7 permits. The comparison uses October 29, 2025 and November 5, 2025. Removal from the published inventory does not establish revocation, a property sale, or the end of rental activity.

Permits by permit status
Each permit is counted once. Shares describe the mix in this observation.
| Permit status | Permits | Share |
|---|---|---|
| ActiveIncluded STVR permits marked Active by the publisher; expiration dates do not override that status. | 1,211 | 100.0% |
| SuspendedIncluded STVR permits marked Suspended by the publisher; these remain in the register but are currently suspended. | 0 | 0.0% |
| Total published inventory | 1,211 | 100% |
Shares are rounded independently and are not applicable to an empty inventory. Descriptions are retained with this dated observation. A declared permit status with no records has a known count of zero.
Separate publisher observation
Published availability by permit status
Availability is unavailable for this report: no separate capacity observation was selected.
Zero means no remaining permits in that dated availability observation. Unlimited and unavailable are distinct states. These figures do not establish availability within a reporting area.

Permits by reporting area
The City’s Business Area field mixes four geographic labels with an Exempt reporting bucket related to exemptions from the ban on new permits. These are publisher classifications, not neighborhood boundaries, density measures or area-level permit availability. Development is a separate dimension. Counts are sorted from largest to smallest; horizontal scrolling reveals every permit status on smaller screens.
| Reporting area | Total | Active | Suspended |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exempt | 546 | 546 | 0 |
| South La Quinta | 270 | 270 | 0 |
| Cove | 207 | 207 | 0 |
| North La Quinta | 101 | 101 | 0 |
| Mid La Quinta | 87 | 87 | 0 |
| Total, including unknown / unassigned | 1,211 | 1,211 | 0 |
Unknown / unassigned preserves permits without a usable area. Area labels follow the publisher’s inventory; they are not an independently verified geographic directory. Zero in a permit status column means no records in that cell of the complete inventory; it does not describe availability.
How to read this
Published inventory, with clear limits
Population counted: All unique General, Primary Residence and Homeshare STVR permits listed as active or currently suspended in the City’s complete weekly register. Pending applications and Bed & Breakfast records are excluded; each permit number counts once, including multi-unit lock-off permits.
Counts measure the stated inventory, not bookings, occupancy, revenue, or actual rental activity. Missing geographic assignments remain included in totals.
0 expired-looking records are retained in this observation. These records have an expiration date earlier than the observation date. That date alone does not resolve renewal or administrative status.
Availability is an independent publisher observation. These counts establish neither an area cap nor availability for an individual property.
